He has deep experience in offshore energy projects, LNG-to-power, cross border utilization, and helping traditional E&P companies expand into low-carbon ventures. Steven has led several oil & gas and alternative energy projects in the United States while also developing a passion for working in developing markets, advising IOCs, NOCs and governments with the implementation of first-of-their-kind upstream, midstream and downstream projects.

Florent Rousset is a senior energy executive and the Geothermal Leader for New Energies at Baker Hughes. Focused on accelerating the global expansion of geothermal energy, he leads initiatives that combine subsurface expertise with integrated project delivery to provide clean, reliable baseload power—a critical requirement for today’s AI-driven data centers and global electrification.
Since joining Baker Hughes in 2008, Florent has held several high-level leadership positions, including Strategy & Market Intelligence Leader for both New Energies and Production Solutions. He previously led GaffneyCline, a premier global energy consultancy renowned for advising sovereign governments on fiscal policy, securing project financing through independent reserves auditing, and providing expert witness testimony for high-stakes international energy litigation.
In addition to his corporate leadership, Florent served as a Board Member and Treasurer for the Association of International Energy Negotiators (AIEN). He holds a Master’s Degree in Management from Neoma Business School and has completed executive programs at INSEAD and Rice University. Florent is currently based in Houston and has held prior roles in Singapore and Paris, shaping a global perspective on energy markets.
