With strategic realignment among global independents, domestic players, and international oil companies driving a resurgence of interest in international oil and gas development, particularly in Africa, the ability to identify, evaluate, and manage risk for international projects has never been more critical to ensuring predictable project results. This panel will explore critical above-ground risks that explorers, developers, and investors must navigate for a new country entry, and how the evaluation of these risks has changed over time.

The panelists will then draw on lessons learned from working on projects in countries such as Namibia, Mozambique, and the Democratic Republic of the Congo to illustrate how Africa’s external relationships, geo-political priorities, vulnerabilities, and opportunities drive above ground risk analysis in a rapidly changing world order.

A networking reception will follow the presentation.
