Explosive growth in data centers and artificial intelligence is driving unprecedented demand for reliable, scalable power. The challenge is no longer simply building more generation but determining which mix of resources can deliver firm power while navigating constrained grids, lengthy interconnection queues, and evolving regulatory requirements. Natural gas is expected to play a critical role in the near term, while geothermal energy, and small modular nuclear reactors (SMRs) may emerge as long-term, low-carbon solutions.
Join the AIEN US Chapter as we kick off our fall event series with a discussion on the legal, regulatory, commercial, and financing frameworks shaping the race to power AI-enabled growth. Our panel will examine grid expansion, transmission constraints, resource adequacy, and the evolving roles of natural gas, geothermal, nuclear, and other generation resources (including wind and solar). Speakers will also explore how fuel supply, pipeline transportation, generation assets, and long-term power offtake agreements are being structured to support growing data center demand, as well as the permitting, contracting, and investment challenges facing developers, utilities, and regulators.
