Renata Amaral, Partner, Trench Rossi Watanabe Advogados
Renata Campetti Amaral is the head of the Environmental Law, Climate Change, and Sustainability practice at Trench Rossi Watanabe. She is recognized in the highest ranking (Band 1) in the ESG category by Chambers and Partners. Renata has also been selected by Client Choice as Brazil’s representative in Environmental Law and has been consistently recognized over the years by Chambers and Partners, LACCA, Latin Lawyer, Análise Advocacia, and Legal 500 as one of the most admired environmental lawyers in Brazil. She serves as Chair of the Energy and Environment Commission of the ICC in Brazil. Renata leads several of the country’s largest cases related to the generation and trading of carbon credits, as well as environmental and regulatory matters. She has extensive experience in sustainability and climate change issues, as well as in crisis management and stakeholder negotiations. She holds an LL.M. from the University of Texas at Austin and specialized in ESG and Sustainability at the University of California, Berkeley. Renata is a professor in postgraduate programs on environmental law, climate change, and ESG topics. She has actively participated in Global Climate Conferences (COPs), including advising clients on advocacy strategies for key climate-related issues across various sectors.
Annie Groth, Country Liaison - Brazil, Verra
As Country Liaison for Brazil, Annie is responsible for fostering Verra’s relationship with key market players within the country, including private and public actors. She does this through capacity building initiatives, monitoring Brazil’s evolving policy landscape, and making sure Verra’s programs and standards are implemented through a collaborative approach.
Prior to joining Verra, Annie was the Director of Advocacy and Engagement at Biofilica Ambipar, one of Brazil’s largest project proponents. She was also the Vice President of the Brazil Nature-based Solutions Alliance, a forum for project developers to foster market best-practices. Before joining the VCM universe, Annie worked at the UN Global Compact and the Heinrich Boell Foundation.
Annie holds a bachelor’s degree in liberal arts from University College Maastricht (Netherlands) and a master’s degree in international public management from Sciences Po (France).
Bruno Laskowsky, Partner, YvY Capital
Bruno Laskowsky is an experienced C-level executive with a solid track record in the financial services, asset management, real estate, and consulting sectors. Over the past 20 years, he has developed strong expertise in strategy, business and people management, M&A, corporate finance, and restructuring.
Most recently, Bruno served as Head of BNDESPAR (the investment arm of BNDES), overseeing Capital Markets, Corporate Restructuring, and the Bank’s Indirect Credit operations (BNDES Digital). This role deepened his understanding of the public sector and allowed him to deliver impactful results while navigating complex institutional environments. His previous experience in the private and nonprofit sectors has shaped a pragmatic and comprehensive approach to leadership, grounded in purpose and execution.
Bruno is passionate about topics such as energy transition, capital recycling, credit and guarantee funds, portfolio allocation (PE/VC, real estate, infrastructure), and governance. He also values the development of soft skills—resilience, credibility, negotiation, and communication—as essential tools for leadership. He holds a Master of Science in Business Administration from UFRJ, completed the Corporate Governance program at Stanford University, and is an alumnus of the OPM (Owners and Presidents Management) program at Harvard Business School.
Leonardo Maués, Manager of Carbon Market, Petrobras
Leonardo Maués is a seasoned professional with over 20 years of experience in the oil and gas industry, with a strong focus on exploration and production. He began his career in operational roles, gaining solid field experience, and later transitioned to project evaluation, valuation, and benchmarking, working as a technical consultant on strategic initiatives.
Over the past decade, Leonardo has held leadership positions primarily in business performance management, leading teams and projects focused on value creation and operational efficiency. Most recently, he has served as General Manager in a corporate role within the Engineering and Technology division, contributing to the development of innovative solutions and the integration of technical and strategic areas.
