Juan Manuel Rojas is currently the Corporate Vice-president for Strategy and Business Development of Ecopetrol. In this position, he has been responsible for strategic planning, M&A, and upstream growth in Colombia, Brazil, Mexico and the US.
Prior to joining Ecopetrol, he worked as General Manager of Bridas Corporation, an Argentinean and Chinese Oil and Gas Company E&P assets in Argentina, Bolivia, Chile and Colombia, and downstream assets in Argentina, Paraguay and Uruguay. Before joining Bridas, he served as New Ventures Manager at Panamerican Energy.
Mr. Rojas also worked as Energy Director of SOCMA Group. There he led the Group's strategy in the area of renewable energy, with particular emphasis on wind power projects.
Mr. Rojas also holds experience working for the public sector. He was Deputy Minister of Energy and Gas of Colombia where he was in charge of managing a holding of state-owned companies which included 3 generators, 2 transmission and 14 electricity distribution companies. He has also worked as a consultant for the energy industry: on several occasions for the World Bank in projects covering electricity markets in Asia, Africa and Latin America.
In the academic field he has been professor of the Master of Public Policy Program at the University Torcuato di Tella in Buenos Aires, and has been Professor of History of Economic Thought at the University of the Andes (Colombia). He is an economist from the University of the Andes, holds a Masters in Economics from the same institution and a Master in Public Policy from Harvard University.
He currently serves as Director in the following Boards: Rodeo Midland LLC, Hocol, Ecopetrol Oleo e Gas Do Brasil, and Esenttia, and is acting member of Accenture’s Global Energy Board.
César Guzzetti is the Regional Director for GaffneyCline in the Americas, based in Buenos Aires. He has over 30 years of project evaluation experience in negotiations, engineering and operations and considerable expertise in Project Management, Field Evaluation and Development, Reservoir Management and Project Valuation. César has traveled widely and his career has taken him to live and/or work in the FSU and Caspian, Asia, China, South, Central and North America and the Caribbean.
Marianna Boza is a transnational attorney authorized to practice in Venezuela and Colombia. She is a Director at Brigard Urrutia and is Head of Mining and O&G. In her capacity, Marianna advises clients around the world on the operations and corporate transactions of upstream, midstream, or downstream energy companies. She has substantial experience advising companies in the oil & gas and petrochemical sectors. She has been involved in major upstream, midstream, and downstream projects in Latin America, advising in the negotiation and drafting of the relevant contracts. Marianna has advised clients in the negotiation, creation, and financing of joint ventures for the development of hydrocarbons and petrochemical activities and the processing of gas in Venezuela and Colombia.
Marianna was the senior legal counsel at Shell Venezuela, actively participating in the downstream business to produce oil by-products. Additionally, she was an in-house attorney in secondment for the legal department of Repsol and ChevronTexaco in Venezuela, where she provided business-focused advice and gained on-site experience.
Marianna actively participates in several binational chambers of commerce and associations of industry and trade; she is currently the vice president of the Board of Directors of the Colombian-Canadian Chamber of Commerce and the director of the Extractive Committee of the Colombian-Canadian Chamber of Commerce. Marianna is also a member of the Latin America Regional Executive Committee Association of International Petroleum Negotiators (AIPN).
