As director of upstream and corporate research, Andrew Harwood is responsible for Wood Mackenzie’s Asia Pacific oil and gas research, working closely with the analyst teams in Beijing, Delhi, Perth, and Singapore. In addition to developing research content that provides insight and analysis, Andrew advises clients on corporate strategy and supports business development with key regional and global accounts. During his time with Wood Mackenzie, Andrew has supported several consultancy projects, including fiscal benchmarking, corporate strategy analysis, growth opportunity screening, portfolio valuation, and infrastructure studies.
Based in Singapore since 2010, Andrew specializes in providing analysis and insight on global upstream investment themes, corporate strategy for national and international oil companies, merger and acquisition trends, exploration performance, and fiscal benchmarking. Andrew holds a BA combined studies degree in management and investment finance with honors from Heriot Watt University.
Patrick Bance is a Managing Director in Kroll’s Global Restructuring Advisory practice and is based in Singapore. He is a Chartered Accountant with experience in due diligence, formal and informal corporate restructuring, insolvency, mergers and acquisitions, equity and debt capital fundraising and company valuations. He has acted on behalf of public and private companies, lenders and financiers, secured and unsecured creditors on assignments across multiple sectors, including upstream oil and gas and oil and gas offshore services.
Patrick’s experience in the oil and gas sector includes currently acting as receiver over KrisEnergy (Asia) Limited and its subsidiaries, which have assets in Bangladesh, Thailand, Indonesia and Cambodia. Oil and gas services assignments have included the USD825 million restructuring of Floatel International Limited and the USD2 billion restructuring of Borr Drilling Limited.
Patrick’s assignments are often of cross-border in nature, spanning the Southeast Asian region, Europe, the US and Australia.
William (Bill) Lafferrandre is a Senior Business Development Advisor for ConocoPhillips in Singapore with responsibility for identifying, evaluating and capturing new upstream opportunities for the company in the Asia Pacific region.
Prior to re-joining ConocoPhillips in October 2018, Bill spent 2 years as the CEO and founder of SEA Dragon Resources, a Singapore based start-up company seeking to build a balanced portfolio of E&P assets in Southeast Asia. Before founding SEA Dragon, Bill worked for ConocoPhillips for 31 years and has been actively involved in the E&P business in Asia for more than 25 years. Through his ConocoPhillips career, he held various regional business development positions for Conoco and ConocoPhillips in Singapore, Malaysia and Vietnam. He retired from ConocoPhillips in 2016 after serving as Vice President of Global Business Development for ConocoPhillips in Houston, Texas. Bill is a council member and Treasurer of the Southeast Asia Petroleum Exploration Society in Singapore, chaired the Cambodia and Brunei Committees of the US-ASEAN Business Council and was a board member and former President of the Association of International Petroleum Negotiators (AIPN).
He holds an undergraduate degree in Petroleum Land Management from the University of Oklahoma and a Masters of Business Administration from the University of Houston.
