Rajan Varshney is an MTech from IITD and BE from DU and MBA from IGNOU, Delhi. He is certified Trainer for Hydrogen from Skill Council for Green jobs.
Certifications include "Harvard Management Mentor", Hydrogen and green Chemicals from IIT Mumbai, Carbon markets from IIT Roorkee, Battery technology from IESA etc. He has over 38 years’ experience in Energy Sector including RE, Hydrogen economy in NTPC. He has been selected as member in several committees by Niti Aayog like those for "Concentrated Solar Power" and "Power sector reforms" and by various Ministries like the High-Powered committee constituted for part replacement of sand by bottom ash in concrete mix. He has been key resource person for C-Ganga initiatives by IIT Kanpur & NMCG under Water ministry. He has been supporting collaboration with PSA under various initiatives and incubators at FITT-IITD and SIIC-IITK.
He is Governing council member Skill council for Green jobs. He is Member of ASME task force on Emerging energy technologies. He is President IFEVA Green Energy Foundation.
He has been taking up several new initiatives which have won many accolades. He has been instrumental in mentoring several start-ups, accelerating research to market transformation and strengthening industry academia collaboration. He has installed an innovative and very effective wastewater treatment system treating water without electricity for NTPC, NOIDA office.
His several papers have been published internationally. His paper on Hydrogen from Biomass in the Hydrogen economy book got published by Springer Singapore. "The Hydrogen Book" was launched by H.E. Mrs. May-Elin Stener, Ambassador, Royal Norwegian Embassy in presence of Mr. Swapan Ray, Sr. Executive Vice President, Reliance Industries.
He spearheaded efforts for September 2020 notifications for H2/HCNG as permitted fuel in Indian Motor Vehicle Act and Safety standards for FCEVs. He has been member of GH2 council India for standards formulation and promoting H2 adoption.
He has delivered several lectures in IITs and IIMs and various Management and Engineering institutes on H2, Sustainability, RE, AI etc. He has been invited as Chief guest at several Institutes for various inaugurations, induction programs etc for inspiring faculty and students. He has organised several conferences and has been keynote speaker at various national and international conferences. He is passionate about Waste to VAPs, Water Recycling, Net Zero, Just energy transition, Environment & Sustainability.
