Chevonese Gilhooly is Principal Legal Advisor at Sasol and committee member of the Africa Chapter of the Association of International Energy Negotiators (AIEN). Chevonese has over 18 years’ experience in energy project development with a focus on upstream oil and gas. Chevonese has extensive experience advising clients with the structuring and development of projects, joint venture arrangements, asset sales and purchases, and corporate acquisitions and disposals having spent nearly 10 years in the London office of a leading international law firm headquartered in Houston.
Kristina Kasibayo, Head of Compliance, Uganda National Oil Company
Kristina Kasibayo is the Head of Compliance at the Uganda National Oil Company, with over 18 years of experience in the petroleum sector. She specializes in regulatory compliance, contract negotiation, and corporate governance, and leads the development of UNOC’s compliance frameworks while supporting key strategic projects. She has previously held roles at Tullow Uganda Operations Pty Ltd and Kampalan Associated Advocates, advising on legal and regulatory matters across the energy industry.
Kristina holds a Master of Laws in Energy Law and Policy from the University of Dundee and a Master’s in Anti-Corruption Compliance from the International Anti-Corruption Academy. She is a Director of the Association of International Petroleum Negotiators and is passionate about strengthening governance, integrity, and sustainable practices in the energy sector.
Eduardo Miranda, Credit Analyst, Sonangol Integrated Services
Eduardo Miranda is Credit and Collections Professional at Sonangol Integrated Services and an emerging energy specialist focused on oil and gas negotiations. He previously served as President of the Association of International Energy Negotiators (AIEN) student chapter at Houston Christian University, where he led high-level initiatives aimed at developing future energy negotiators.
He holds an MBA from Houston Christian University (United States Of America), and a Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration from Africa University (Zimbabwe). He further strengthened his expertise through executive education at Harvard Business School in leadership and global business (United States Of America). Eduardo has built a solid international experience across United States, working in commercial and operations at Sonangol Marine Services and in Europe at Visteon in Portugal, where he developed a strong foundation in stakeholder alignment and contractual frameworks.
He has also actively participated in international conferences as a speaker, including the 6th Annual Energy Tax Conference with Denney L. Wright (University of Houston) and the 24th Annual Symposium of the Houston Business and Tax Law Journal, titled Lessons from International Oil and Gas Investments.

Eduany Pedro is Legal Counsel at Sonangol E.P. and serves as Young Negotiator Representative for the Africa Chapter Committee of the Association of International Energy Negotiators (AIEN). He holds a Master of Laws (LL.M.) in Environmental and Energy Law from Georgetown University Law Center. Eduany gained international experience as a Foreign Legal Intern at Mayer Brown LLP in Washington, D.C. and Rio de Janeiro, where he supported matters involving corporate, oil and gas, renewable energy, and infrastructure projects. His work focused on legal research, regulatory analysis, and contributing to complex transactional and contractual frameworks within the energy sector.
He holds a Law degree from the Catholic University of Angola and postgraduate diplomas in Oil and Gas Law (Agostinho Neto University), Corporate Governance, Compliance and Public Supervision, (University of Lisbon) and Commercial Contracts (University of Lisbon). He has further strengthened his profile through executive education at Harvard Business School (Negotiation), the University of Southern California (American Law and Legal English), and the Brazilian Institute of Energy Law (Oil and Gas Law). He is a recognized contributor to the global energy legal community, Eduany serves on multiple AIEN committees and was named AIEN Featured Member of the Month (March 2024) in recognition of his leadership and impact.
