Host Government Agreements (HGAs)—including Concessions, Production Sharing Contracts, Risk Service Agreements, and other contractual frameworks—form the foundation of the international petroleum industry. Recognizing their importance and in response to strong interest from its membership, AIEN established a drafting committee in 2025 to undertake the important effort of creating a Model Host Government Agreement. The committee is currently working to develop a practical model agreement that reflects the evolving needs of the global energy industry.
Join the AIEN Latin America & Caribbean Chapter for this hybrid interactive workshop, where attendees will gain an overview of HGAs, including their key objectives, structure, and common negotiating challenges. Participants will also receive an update on the progress of the AIEN Model HGA Drafting Committee and its ongoing efforts.
The program will conclude with an interactive panel discussion examining several of the more complex and often-debated HGA provisions. Through guided discussion and audience participation, attendees will have the opportunity to explore practical perspectives on these issues, engage directly with our featured speakers, and contribute to a dynamic exchange of ideas.
For those joining us in person, lunch will be served after the presentation.
