Jamie Mickelson, Managing Director - Investigations, Diligence and Compliance, Kroll
Jamie is a Managing Director in the Investigations, Due Diligence, and Compliance practice at Kroll in Mexico. She is an American attorney with nearly two decades of experience managing complex investigations. She assists clients throughout Latin America with fraud investigations, provides investigative due diligence services and advises on best practices in compliance and anti-money laundering programs.

Before joining Kroll, Jamie spent nearly fifteen years at the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) as a federal prosecutor. She investigated complex crimes, including fraud, corruption, human trafficking, drug trafficking, and money laundering. Jamie has worked in Latin America for a decade. She served as DOJ Attaché in Bogotá, Colombia, where she coordinated international investigations and extraditions from Colombia to the United States and represented the DOJ in diplomatic relations. She also served as DOJ Legal Advisor at the U.S. Embassies in Guatemala and Mexico, where she advised public prosecutors, judges, analysts, and investigators on best practices in complex investigations, combating transnational organizations, and litigation skills.

Jamie began her career as a litigation attorney at Latham & Watkins LLP in Chicago, Illinois, where she worked on civil litigation matters. She received her law degree from the College of William & Mary and her Bachelor’s Degree from James Madison University. She is certified by ACAMS as an Anti-Money Laundering Specialist.
 

David Pérez Esparza, Security Expert - CGO, Novitech
Dr. Pérez-Esparza has a distinguished track record in academia, as a private-sector consultant, and as a senior security official in the Government of Mexico. He specializes in security, risk management, data, and technology. 

Since 2022, Dr. Pérez-Esparza has been a professor at CIDE and in the Doctorate in Security program at the Military University (IMEESDN) under Mexico’s Ministry of National Defense (SEDENA). He also advises several doctoral theses and teaches courses including Public Policy, Economics, Intelligence, Game Theory, and Strategic Foresight.

Guest columnist and editorial board member in various media outlets. His recent work and appearances can be found in El País, El Norte, The Washington Post, Al Jazeera, Grupo Reforma, The Houston Chronicle, the BBC, the Financial Times, The Economist, La Saga, and the magazine Nexos.

Currently, Dr. Pérez-Esparza serves as a consultant at NSP and leads the growth team at Novitech, a security technology company.

He also holds a PhD in Security Applied Sciences from the Faculty of Engineering at University College London (UCL), London, UK.
