The latest IPCC reports are clear, large amounts of CO2 need to be removed from the atmosphere to stay in line with the Paris Agreement Objectives.

Carbon Dioxide Removal (CDR) methods are defined as human activities that remove CO2 from the atmosphere and store it durably, such as Direct Air Carbon Capture and Storage (DACCS), or afforestation. These methods are gaining increasing attention by scientists, policymakers, and investors. However, numerous challenges need to be kept in mind when scaling up CDR.

Our panelists will share their insights on the challenges, but also opportunities and policy implications, associated with scaling up CDR methods. Thanks to their diverse backgrounds, the panelists will offer perspectives from academic research, European policy, and the French CDR startup scene.
