Tim is considered a major thought leader in the energy sector where he has led various energy organizations, established the leading energy journal in its field, and published highly cited articles and research in the energy sector.

Tim was President of the Association of International Energy Negotiators (AIEN), a leading international oil & gas organization. He is Founder and Chair of the Journal of World Energy Law & Business, the leading journal on international energy and the official journal of the AIEN, which is published by Oxford University Press.

He is the co-author of JOINT VENTURE DISPUTES IN THE ENERGY & NATURAL RESOURCE SECTORS, the leading textbook on the subject.

Tim has in-depth experience in various legal systems including the common law, civil law and Shari’ah law. He has been retained by major and independent oil & gas companies, some of the largest national oil companies in the world and petroleum ministries to provide legal counsel, industry advice and expert testimony in high profile international arbitrations.

Tim is both a Fellow (FCIArb) and a Chartered Arbitrator (C.Arb) of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators in London, United Kingdom. He is a Fellow (CollArb) of the College of Commercial Arbitrators in the United States. He has been appointed to the Energy, Oil & Gas Panel of the International Institute for Conflict Prevention & Resolution (CPR) in New York and the Energy Arbitrators List administered by the AAA/ICDR.
