Europe Chapter Event "Good Oilfield Practice: Its History & Evolution"

5:00 - 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 3, 2025

Bracewell LLP  |  Tower 42, 25 Old Broad Street, London, EC2N 1HQ, United Kingdom

Tim Martin, Managing Director, Northumberland Chambers

Good Oilfield Practice is the industry standard for the conduct of O&G operations. It has evolved over the last 100 years to cover all facets of the O&G industry, which reflects the risk, complexity and uncertainty associated with the industry’s operations.

Join our Europe Chapter event to hear from Tim Martin, who recently published an article in the Journal of World Energy Law & Business (the official journal of AIEN) that provided a comprehensive, historical analysis of Good Oilfield Practice from its origins of more than a century ago to today’s modern global industry.

Martin will discuss this standard and how it is applied across the industry in its operations, contracts and regulations. Additionally, he will discuss the various disputes that have arisen under this standard, and he will discuss how the concept of Good Oilfield Practice is migrating to other energy sectors under the generic name of good industry practice.

A networking reception will follow the panel discussion.

Registration is complimentary for members and non-members. Please register at the link to the right by May 29.
