Lyrna Esmeralda-Hewitt

Lyrna Esmeralda-Hewitt is Vice President for Business Development at Aboitiz Renewables Inc., the renewable arm of Aboitiz Power Corporation (AboitizPower). Since joining AboitizPower in October 2021, Lyrna has structured and negotiated renewable transactions and partnerships in the Philippines.
Prior to her present tenure at AboitizPower, Lyrna was briefly a Business Development Consultant at SCATEC ASA. She was also previously Head of Commercial for AC Energy, where she co-led the sell down of ACE Energy’s thermal platform to AboitizPower, and the acquisition of PHINMA Energy Corporation.
Before transitioning to renewables, Lyrna had a fulfilling career in the oil and gas sector mainly based in Singapore. She was Principal Economist for Senergy/Lloyd’s Register overseeing techno-commercial assessment and valuation of oil and gas assets globally. She was also Fiscal and Regulatory Manager of Deloitte Petroleum LLC, and Economist at Gaffney, Cline & Associates/Baker Hughes, Inc. She started her career as a Planning Analyst for the Philippine National Oil Company Exploration Corporation, an active member of the team that evaluated and successfully farmed into the Shell-Chevron partnership for the Malampaya Gas-to-Power-Project, giving birth to the natural gas industry in the Philippines.
Presently serving as Steering Section Head for AIEN’s Asia Chapter Regional Committee – Philippines Section, Lyrna was a former member of its Board of Directors, and was Regional Director for Asia from 2014-2017. She was awarded the prestigious President’s Award in 2017 for showing exemplary service to the AIEN and to the energy industry based on rigorous review of nominations from industry peers. She was on the Organizing Committee for the AIEN International Conference in Singapore in 2013 and was an active member of various sub-committees.
Lyrna is pursuing her Juris Doctor degree from the Aklan Catholic College. She holds an MBA from the Ateneo de Manila University and a BS Economics degree from the University of the Philippines.
She enjoys spending time off with her family. She is a farmer-entrepreneur at heart.
