AIEN Foundation
Since its inception, AIEN has been committed to supporting educational initiatives around the world. This steadfast commitment is illustrated in the more than $3 million that has been dedicated to fostering the next generation of energy negotiators, helping fund research and publications and growing the expertise of energy professionals across the industry.
As a next step, AIEN launched the Foundation of International Energy Negotiators (“FIEN” or the “AIEN Foundation”) in December 2025 to impart positive influence and improvement in energy education worldwide.

The AIEN Foundation exists to attract and connect minds who will address the global energy industry’s most pressing challenges and work toward building a more sustainable energy future.
Our Mission:
The AIEN Foundation exists to inspire and equip this and future generations within business, energy, and law fields, leveraging AIEN’s educational initiatives to tackle our most pressing global energy challenges through discourse, scholarship, publication and community-building.
With your help, here’s how we can support AIEN’s educational objectives:
- Awarding scholarships directly to university students around the world who have the potential to make a significant contribution to the field of international energy negotiations.
- Allowing students access to key AIEN conferences and workshops worldwide to bring global energy issues alive for them and to motivate careers in solving energy challenges.
- Promoting the integration of new talent into the AIEN community through supporting a vibrant EAB network, building meaningful connections with AIEN members and establishing programs to build long-lasting relationships among former scholarship recipients and AIEN.
- Bringing together academic and industry leaders, and providing student writing opportunities, to produce top-notch publications addressing pressing issues affecting the industry.
