Join the Asia Chapter for a presentation on "Failed Asia Pacific Deals: Reasons and Lessons for the Industry." Asia Pacific E&P deal activity has only ever represented a small percentage of the global E&P deal flow. While there is a regular flow of sub USD 100-150 million deals in the region, larger deals in the region are sporadic and generally happen in spurts. In 2013-14, a few large deals came to the market as US Independents exited the region. A similar surge in activity happened in 2016-17, which was largely driven by divestment programs by Chevron and Shell. However, the majority of the deals in the last two years did not close. This is a concerning reality for the region with many professionals hoping it to be an aberration rather than a trend. The presentation will look to understand, from an M&A Advisors perspective, reasons for failed deals, any lessons the industry could learn and if there is an underlying general trend that may have contributed to the failed deals.

Registration is complimentary for members and S$25 for non-members, payable at the door. RSVP is required, as space is limited.
