Host Government Agreements (HGAs)—including Concessions, Production Sharing Contracts, Risk Service Agreements, and other contractual frameworks—form the foundation of the international petroleum industry. Recognizing their importance and in response to strong interest from its membership, AIEN established a drafting committee in 2025 to undertake the important effort of creating a Model Host Government Agreement. The committee is working to develop a practical model agreement that reflects the evolving needs of the global energy industry.

Join our Africa Chapter for a panel discussion where attendees will gain an overview of HGAs, including their key objectives, structure, and common negotiating challenges. Participants will also receive an update on the progress of the AIEN Model HGA Drafting Committee and its ongoing efforts.

The program will conclude with an interactive panel discussion that will (i) examine selected provisions of the draft Model HGA and (ii) discuss its relevance to the Angolan petroleum industry. Through guided discussion and audience participation, attendees will have the opportunity to explore practical perspectives on these issues, engage directly with our featured speakers, and contribute to a dynamic exchange of ideas.

The event will be immediately followed by a networking reception.

Registration is complimentary for members and non-members. Please register at the link to the right by November 4.
