The AIPN’s Australia-Pacific Regional Chapter is pleased to welcome Professor Owen Anderson to New Zealand to lead two workshops in Wellington and New Plymouth.

We hope to make this an annual event that addresses topical issues, international practices and solutions. This year's event will focus on:

  • Decommissioning: 
    • offshore (with particular reference to UK and Gulf of Mexico regulatory and commercial practices) 
    • onshore issues relevant to New Zealand 
  • Service contracting – compensation, risk allocation, ‘knock for knock’ and insurance with a case study from the Macondo blow-out
  • Human Rights Responsibilities in the Oil & Gas Sector: applying the UN Guiding Principles and lessons from the US, Canada and Australia
